An upcoming live professional wrestling show

Fans of Trailblazer Championship Wrestling are in for something truly unique on Wednesday July 30th, as the company teams up with the Johnson County Fair in Gardner, Kansas for an outdoor show at the fairgrounds’ main rodeo arena. Tickets are just $10.00 and include a free meet-and-greet with the wrestlers from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Fans are encouraged to snap photos, grab autographs, and get hyped before the action begins! The fair has announced a clear bag policy (see below) for all Main Event Arena ticketed events: only clear bags up to 12” x 12” x 6” or 1-gallon zip-lock bags will be permitted. Honestly, as someone who lives in a place where local fairs tend to get rowdy, if not somewhat dangerous, this might actually be a helpful move.

One of the show’s highlights is the first-ever Gold Rush Battle Royal, a traditional over-the-top-rope match where elimination occurs once both feet hit the ground. The last man standing earns a title shot against Trailblazer Heavyweight Champion Austin Mulitalo in that night’s main event. As you might have guessed, I absolutely adore battle royals, and matches like this are often some of the most fun you can have at a wrestling show. Aside from that match , there have been a multitude of other announcements leading up to this show, and in this article we are going to be looking at each one rather briefly. As this show is more of a special event, I won’t have as much analysis to provide, and there will be MANY new faces Trailblazer fans won’t be used to seeing!

Speaking of “Astonishing” Austin Mulitalo, it will be interesting to see what his does on Wednesday. Not long ago, after a rare title defense, he took liberties with opponent Luke Anthony and earned himself an indefinite suspension after refusing to stop attacking him after he had already won, adding insult to injury. Though he later issued a public apology, many fans remain skeptical. For a champion who’s spent much of his reign mocking the crowd and causing headaches for Trailblazer officials, forgiveness won’t come easily. Will we see a new man, or was this all a ruse?

“The Voice of Trailblazer Championship Wrestling,” Marcus Officer, also known from Fox 4 News in Kansas City, will be in the house calling the action live over the arena’s loudspeaker system. While this isn’t something you hear at most wrestling shows, it’ll feel like experiencing a full TV broadcast in person. And who knows – Marcus might even get up to more than just commentary!

“The Midwest Mouth” Dekin Cane has guided his client, Rocco the Barbarian, to several hard-fought victories in Trailblazer Championship Wrestling, and he’s made it clear he believes his client will easily dispatch what he assumes is a rookie opponent. However, I have it on good authority that he might be underestimating his new foe. The debuting King Sabre is a mysterious masked competitor with more heart than a Valentine’s candy factory and the skill to back it up. If Rocco and Dekin come into this match unprepared, they may end up heading back to the woods, or wherever Rocco calls home, with their tails between their legs.

Ithere’s a list of people I’d never want to cross, “The Unnatural Disaster” Salum Gust would be right near the top. Still recovering from his loss to Luke Anthony, Salum is likely in a foul mood. Being given a chance to unleash pain on someone, possibly by launching them through a table until it explodes into splinters and carnage, might be the only thing that gets the brutal monster to crack a smile. Unfortunately for him, his opponent is no stranger: The Suplex Cyclone Curt Gannon. Gannon has gone to war with nearly every member of Dekin Cane’s vile little empire and knows exactly what kind of chaos to expect. One thing’s for sure, the Gardner crowd will be ready to explode if Gannon manages to send Salum flying through a table.

Two of Kansas City’s hottest rising stars in the independent scene are coming to Trailblazer Championship Wrestling. Talon Graves and “The Natural” Atlas Armstrong, better known as The Thoroughbreds, are ready to make names for themselves in a new company. Unfortunately for them, they will be facing two men who just might know how to tame wild horses. As farmhands from Turner, Kansas, the Wranglers (Bobby Joe Black and Johnnie Jo Black) have captured the hearts of the Gardner crowd and built the best record of any team in the company. Will that down-home grit and determination shut down the Thoroughbreds, or will Talon and Atlas shock everyone in their debut?

Fans of “The House that Harley Race Built,” World League Wrestling or NWA WLW, might recognize the likes of “BIG” Mike Maverick and Blade Lennox as two of their most promising stars in recent years. Both men will face off in a showcase of some of the best wrestling St. Louis has to offer, and I have a feeling this match will not only surprise some folks, but also win over new fans for both competitors. There is a clear clash of styles, with Mike Maverick standing out as a giant among men, while Blade Lennox brings agility and unpredictability that is rare in the wrestling world.

What a year it has been for Miracle Mike James, finally emerging from the shadow of being held down and used by others who had no regard for his goals or well-being, to becoming one of the biggest fan favorites in the company. This match might be a treat simply because it’s the first time we’ll see Mike in his element, living his life the way he wants. He’ll be facing another high-flyer, Rey De La Muerte (The King of the Dead), who continues to impress fans across Kansas City. This is bound to be a wild match, with both men soaring through the air and taking serious risks. For fans of Lucha Libre, this will be the one to watch.

For fans of women’s wrestling, Trailblazer has something special as “The Power Rough Girl” Ashlynn Alexander goes toe-to-toe with Izzy B. Trailblazer crowds know Izzy B. all too well for running her mouth, calling fans losers or ugly, and most would love nothing more than to see her eat dirt in that rodeo arena if she pulls the same stunt again. Ashlynn Alexander, making her Trailblazer debut, is built like a tiny (but cute) freight train and has no problem steamrolling anyone who acts like Izzy B. does. This is going to be a wild one and proves that Trailblazer always has something for everyone.

Last but not least, Trailblazer has a match that could steal the show and deliver something many thought they’d never see. Campbell Myers and SK Bishop, The Premier, the self-proclaimed “saviors of tag-team wrestling,” are heading to Gardner with plans to take over another company’s tag division. Standing in their way are “2nd 2 None” Kenny Alfonso and the legendary “YOGAMONSTER” Mike Sydal, who have no intention of letting that happen. This is one you won’t want to miss, and it’s bound to be the talk of the night.
