PREVIEW: Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling – Unleashed (4-12-25)

Fresh off today’s Tri-States Wrestling show, I wanted to make sure I got a preview up for my second wrestling event of the weekend – Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling. KCXW is back in action, this time returning to Kansas City, Missouri for their 2025 Unleashed event at the Ozark Armory! The pieces for this show have been moving into place for months now, with storylines heating up since the KCXW Checkpoint: Winter Blast tapings. Now, it all comes to a head—every championship will be on the line, and some long-simmering grudges may finally be settled when the dust clears.

Over the past year, KCXW has quietly built one of the most exciting rosters of fresh talent in the region. These rising stars have been carving out bigger and bigger roles for themselves, and if this card is any indication, some of them are ready to break through in a big way. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for Unleashed 2025 – because this one is shaping up to be something special. Click HERE for more information including purchasing tickets.

While the VIP Table Packages have sold out, there are still other seating choices available. The XTREME Seating Section, offering front-row seats for both kids and adults, is priced at $20.00 plus a $1.50 fee, with only a limited number of seats remaining. General Admission tickets are available at $15.00 plus a $1.50 fee for adults (ages 13 and up) and $10.00 plus a $1.50 fee for children (12 and under). Group rates are also offered for parties of 10 or more. Doors open at 5:30 PM, with the opening bell at 6:30 PM.

Of course I’m going to start with the match I’m personally sponsoring – the highly anticipated grudge match between “Hard Luck” Hal Rogers and El Diablo. As a huge fan of El Diablo, and with Hal Rogers being arguably the most hated man in KCXW, this is the match I’ve been looking forward to the most. The tension between these two has been simmering since January, when Rogers declared war on the fans in Independence, MO by vowing to ruin their fun. That promise came to a head when he interrupted the Metro Championship Match between El Diablo and Clay Huna, attacking El Diablo while the referee was down. The result was a tainted win for Huna – and a fired-up El Diablo with a massive score to settle.

Now, the usually upbeat “Heaven’s Superior Aztec Demon” is looking to regain his momentum and exact revenge on the man who cost him dearly. But anyone familiar with KCXW knows that “Hard Luck” Hal Rogers is a master of deception and dirty tactics. No match involving him is ever straightforward, and El Diablo will need to be prepared for absolutely anything. This one has all the makings of a show-stealer.

Next up is a confrontation that could finally settle the long-standing question hanging over KCXW: who is the legitimate Women’s Champion? Last summer, Shooter Shylynn was forced to vacate the title due to a contract stipulation following an injury she suffered in late 2023. That left a power vacuum – one that Lady Pride quickly filled by claiming the championship for herself under the old adage, “possession is nine-tenths of the law.” She claims that she never lost the belt in the first place, and that Shylynn had the belt by questionable means. Ever since, Lady Pride has interrupted nearly every women’s match she wasn’t involved in, declaring that no one else can call themselves champion until she’s been defeated.

Now, with Shylynn finally cleared and ready to return to action, we’re set for a long-awaited showdown. Lady Pride has reportedly promised to win clean – without the help of her Xtremist stablemates – meaning the path is finally clear for a definitive answer (assuming she follows through). Will this be the homecoming and redemption of a woman many fans still recognize as the rightful champion? Or will Lady Pride solidify her claim by backing up her bold words with an undisputed victory at Unleashed? Either way, the women’s division may never be the same again.

“Rad” Rico Estevez has been poppin’ locks and breakin’ his way into the hearts of the KCXW fanbase, quickly becoming one of the most entertaining stars on the roster. But at Unleashed, he may be facing his toughest test yet in “The Diamond” Marco Hendrixxx. While Hendrixxx may still be relatively new to the scene, he brings an undeniable combination of charisma, toughness, and a relentless drive to climb the KCXW ranks – one victory at a time. With such a clash of styles, this matchup could go in a dozen different directions. Rico’s unpredictable, dance-infused offense is hard to read and even harder to counter, while Hendrixxx isn’t afraid to bend the rules if it means walking away with a win. With so many variables in play, it’s nearly impossible to call – but one thing’s for sure: this one is going to be a wild ride.

This triple threat tag team match is shaping up to be absolute chaos, especially if Xtremist Rules are in effect. Featuring “The King of Xtreme” David Cattin and “The Chain Wrestler” Jude Vice (The Xtremists), Charlie Graham and “All Slay” Angel Shay (Wild N’ Untamed), and Old Glory and “The Natural” Atlas Armstrong (The United Patriots), this bout is stacked with three of the hottest tag teams in KCXW. We got a preview of the madness at Checkpoint: Winter Blast, where Cattin, ever the opportunist, used a slipped in chain (Via Jude Vice) into the mix and stole a win in a similar triple threat scenario. Will history repeat itself, or can the other two teams finally neutralize the Xtremist threat?

It’s been over a year since David Cattin declared his war on “everything cute, everything fun, and everything ‘woke,’” vowing to drag KCXW back to its blood-and-guts roots and prove that the “Xtreme” in the company’s name still means something. The roster has tried to push back, but like cockroaches, the Xtremists keep coming – bolder and more vicious with each appearance.

Fans nearly witnessed a new Metro Champion crowned at KCXW Checkpoint – Winter Blast, but that moment was cut short when “The Iron Pitbull” Kenny Kingston refused to break a submission hold, resulting in a disqualification loss in his title match against “Big Brudda” Clay Huna. And how did Kingston react? By snapping. He pulled out a table, smashed Huna onto it, and followed up with a crushing top-rope splash onto Huna’s already broken body through the table. The attack was completely uncalled for, and Huna has demanded a rematch – but this time, it comes with a twist: it’ll be a Tables Match, where the only path to victory is sending your opponent through the wood. Huna is out for revenge, no doubt, but the real question is – how much angrier is Kenny Kingston now? One more brutal trip through a table might not just cost Huna the match…it could shorten his entire career.

Talon made a thunderous statement in the closing moments of KCXW Destiny, appearing behind Tobias Storm after his hard-fought victory over “The Iron Pitbull” Kenny Kingston – and launching a fireball directly into Storm’s face. As Storm writhed on the mat with a soaked towel shielding his eyes, many fans were left wondering: would he even be able to see again, let alone defend his title? This brutal attack blew KCXW wide open, as nobody had seen it coming. Back in February, the two clashed during a tag team match at Winter Blast, where Talon once again got the better of Tobias with a low blow and a quick win. Now, with Storm’s vision in question and his health uncertain, the future of his KC Championship reign hangs in the balance – he could be on track for one of the shortest title runs in KCXW history.

So why is Talon doing this? According to what he told Sykawtic on a recent Checkpoint special, it’s not about money or fame. He’s here to make a statement – to expose the so-called “sellouts” who play by the rules of the system. In his eyes, standing out is the only path to true success. And if nothing else, Talon has certainly done that.

More things to look out for this Saturday:

Including the return of a beloved wrestler – Bert Candy!
