An Upcoming Professional Wrestling Show

This Saturday, October 11, 2025, my hometown wrestling company, Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling, will host its biggest show of the year at City House in Independence, Missouri. Xcellence is always the show where a full year of feuds, challenges, and rivalries come together, making it an event you definitely do not want to miss. In 2024, I unfortunately was not able to attend, but I made sure to fix that this year so I can be there for what promises to be a wild night of wrestling!
Xcellence will feature all major KCXW championships being defended, including the KCXW Metro Championship, the KCXW Kansas City Championship, and the KCXW Women’s Championship. On top of that, a brand-new Season of Xcellence Champion will be crowned in the tournament finals. Add in some surprises such as pre-show matches, and this is already shaping up to be a very stacked card.
As always, I plan to go through and discuss each announced match, explain what led up to them, and give a bit of my opinion along the way. I hope to see everyone there this weekend, and if you have not already, get those tickets now.

MAIN EVENT – Ladder Match for the KC Championship – David Cattin vs El Diablo!
At KCXW Xtreme Freedom 2025, El Diablo overcame incredible odds in a three-way match against Tobias Storm and “Hard Luck” Hal Rogers to capture the KCXW Kansas City Championship. Despite Storm mocking him by hitting a 619 of his own at one point, El Diablo battled back with an Olympic Slam (Storm’s signature) before sealing the victory with a picture-perfect Swanton Bomb. The celebration was short-lived, however, as The Xtremists crashed the ring after the bell and drove El Diablo through a table, leaving fans furious and the new champion battered. “The King of Xtreme” David Cattin has made it clear that he wants to destroy KCXW’s new “family friendly” vibe by removing all of the new stars that he feels have softened the company’s attitude in the past few years. El Diablo has now come across his radar, and you better bet that Cattin won’t find this challenge a push-over. However, if he and his goons cheat hard enough, you never know.
Their assault continued at Checkpoint: Solar Flare, where the group demanded that El Diablo defend his title in a ladder match at Xcellence prior to a match against Xtremist member Jude Vice. They brought a ladder out and everything, just to taunt him. That decision already came back to haunt them, as Jude Vice’s own attempted ladder stunt backfired spectacularly later in the night. Known for his fearless aerial style, El Diablo is perfectly suited for this match type, but Cattin’s underhanded tactics and reliance on backup make this a dangerous scenario. If history is any indicator, the new champion will have to defy both gravity and the numbers game to walk out still holding gold.

Lord Maximus Canine VS Clay Huna for the KCXW Metro Championship
At KCXW Xtreme Freedom 2025, Lord Maximus Canine made his grand return from England, unveiling “The Canine Kingdom” alongside his newly knighted partners, Sir Henry and Sir Arthur. The trio quickly made an impact, with Canine defeating Clay Huna to capture the KCXW Metro Championship. Their arrogance and self-importance immediately rubbed fans the wrong way, as they strutted around the ring like royalty above the commoners. At KCXW Checkpoint Solar Flare, the group’s pompous entrance and failed attempt to recruit Kenny Kingston drew even more boos from the crowd. The Canine Kingdom beat Kingston down after the discussion, something I feel may come back to haunt them very soon….
In their trios match against Wild N’ Untamed and Huna, tensions flared once more as Canine used his title belt to secure another tainted victory, braining Huna in front of the crowd with the heavy metal belt. Now, Huna seeks redemption and a fair fight to reclaim his championship, though he’ll once again be facing the numbers game stacked in Canine’s favor. The stage is set for another clash between Canine and Huna, with pride and payback on the line.

The Squared Circle Squires vs Wild N’ Untamed
Speaking of the Squared Circle Squires, they will have to face off against the very team they cost that huge trios win for – “All Slay Angel Shay” and “Killjoy” Charlie Graham – Wild N’ Untamed! I can’t help but wonder what “The Iron Pitbull” Kenny Kingston thinks of this match…

Old Glory vs Atlas Armstrong – Grudge Match
Once the backbone of KCXW’s tag team division, The United Patriots have completely unraveled, their bond eroded by one man’s ego and subsequent betrayal. What began as a series of miscommunications spiraled into open hostility, starting when Atlas Armstrong abandoned Old Glory mid-match at Unleashed, shocking fans who once cheered their unity. By Checkpoint Mayhem, Atlas had distanced himself further, insisting he didn’t need Glory’s help, only for Glory’s misplaced loyalty to cost them another match. Each defeat deepened the rift until, at Xtreme Freedom 2025, Atlas snapped, attacking Old Glory after another loss and revealing his true colors.
The fallout has been explosive, with Atlas aligning himself with new and unexpected allies (such as Talon!) while his former partner struggles to regain both pride and purpose. Now, as the two prepare to face off, the question looms: will Old Glory reclaim his honor, or will Atlas once again prove that loyalty is for the weak? Fans are eager to see if this grudge match will finally bring closure to one of KCXW’s most emotional breakups. Either way, the era of the United Patriots is over, and something far more personal has taken its place.

The Season of Xcellence 2025 Finals
This year’s Season of Xcellence tournament has showcased the meteoric rise of two determined competitors whose journeys are set to collide in the finals: “Big Cutie” Bert Candy and “The Polish Powerhouse” Gerard Jaworski. Candy made his long-awaited return to the ring with a renewed focus on championship gold, while Jaworski, rebounding from a serious injury, has reignited his drive by embracing his heritage and raw physical strength. Known for his incredible power and endurance, and showing off with feats of strength all year, Jaworski bulldozed through opponents, even winning a battle royal to secure his place in the finals.

Their new-found rivalry intensified at KCXW Checkpoint: Solar Flare, when an arm-wrestling challenge on Candy’s “Candy Shop” segment erupted into chaos after Jaworski’s frustration got the better of him. Now, the two are on a collision course for the Season of Xcellence finals at KCXW Xcellence this October, where only one will walk away with both the championship gold and momentum toward future championship glory. Fans know this title has launched the careers of Metro and Kansas City champions before, and this year’s winner seems destined to follow that same path.

Shylynn vs Lady Pride for the KCXW Women’s Championship
KCXW is finally set to answer the question that has divided its fans for months: who is the true Women’s Champion? After Shooter Shylynn was forced to vacate the title last year due to injury and a binding contract clause, Lady Pride seized the opportunity, declaring herself the rightful champion under the claim that “possession is nine-tenths of the law.” Since then, she has disrupted nearly every women’s match, insisting that no one else deserves the title until she’s been beaten.
The two first clashed at Unleashed 2025, but Lady Pride abruptly walked out at one point, crying conspiracy when the match didn’t go her way. More recently, she interrupted Shylynn’s bout with Merci, wielding a massive leather strap and pushing her rival past her breaking point. Now, it all comes to a head in a strap match at KCXW Xcellence, where legitimacy is on the line. The outcome will not only crown an undisputed champion but could reshape the women’s division for good.ill not only crown an undisputed champion but could reshape the women’s division for good.

Hard Luck vs Rad Rico – Sponsored by Arcadia Pod!
Hard Luck Hal Rogers appears to have shifted his focus from lamenting last year’s loss of the KCXW Kansas City Championship to targeting a new opponent. Fand might forget that he made a pledge to ruin the un of every single KCXW fan, and he apparently has realized that none other than “Rad” Rico Estevez was always there to have fun and put smiles of faces. At KCXW Xtreme Freedom, Rad Rico’s dance-off segment with Dr. Isin quickly descended into chaos, prompting officials to officially call it a match at Checkpoint: Solar Flare. True to form, Isin exploited every rule imaginable (although he claims he never cheats), from rope-assisted pins to teasing low blows.
At some point “Hard Luck” Hal Rogers, suddenly and without warning, appeared at ringside, casually observing the match with a bag of popcorn and distracting Rico enough for Isin to secure a questionable victory. After the match, Rogers confronted Rico directly, making it clear that a personal showdown is imminent. The motivations behind Rogers’ attack seem illogical, but on brand for him, and he has made one thing certain: Rico will not have an easy time in their upcoming match. This highly anticipated match is sponsored by Arcadia Pod, and I am excited to be part of bringing it to the fans.
And More…
