A Live Professional Wrestling show

In the closing moments of Fountain City Pro – Over You, “All Steel” J Fowler secured his very own guaranteed shot at the Fountain City Pro Heavyweight Championship by winning the Fountain City Reserve briefcase. This instantly put a huge target on the champion’s back and made it clear that Fowler was gunning for the gold. Fountain City Pro Heavyweight Champion Camaro Jackson wasn’t in attendance that night, but you can bet he’s sweating bullets knowing he now has not only a match to prepare for, but also the looming threat of Fowler cashing in at any moment over the next year. Fowler has made it perfectly clear that he considers himself the rightful champion and will do whatever it takes to get the belt in his possession.
Now, three months later, it’s once again time to head down to the Ball Event Center for another action-packed show – hopefully with great air conditioning to offset the sweltering summer heat. I’ll be there, and I hope to see some of my readership in attendance as well. How will Luke Langley get along with his manager Greg Jovi after what went down at the last show? Does Gary Jay have what it takes to be FCP Champion? Will Ashlyn and Shylynn get revenge for what happened to them after their last match against Nixi and Izzy? All questions that will be answered this Friday! But for now, let’s get the ball rolling by looking at all of those upcoming matches and how they stack up based on what we’ve seen in the last few shows this year. Let me know in comments or on Facebook about the match you are most looking forward to!

Luke Langley (w/ Greg Jovi) VS Tommy Davis
The so-called “God Damn Killing Machine” Luke Langley tried to play nice at Fountain City Over You, but his doomed-from-the-start tag team outing alongside Moonshine Mantell quickly brought back the ruthless master of the brainbuster we’ve all grown to largely detest – if not grudgingly respect. Langley spent most of that match as the whipping boy, taking brutal punishment for nearly its entire duration. I’m not surprised he snapped… and that’s assuming there wasn’t something else going on behind the scenes that fans don’t yet know about. One thing’s certain: I wouldn’t want to be standing across the ring from Langley – but someone has to. That someone is Tommy Davis, out of St. Louis and often seen in St. Louis Anarchy. “The Tomahawk Star” has been building his resume across the country, collecting a few championship belts along the way, and now he’s ready to make a name for himself in front of a fresh Kansas City crowd… assuming he can survive the encounter.

Gary Jay VS Camaro Jackson
Next up is what I assume will be the main event of the evening: a championship bout between “The Grand Regent” Camaro Jackson, defending his Fountain City Pro Heavyweight Championship against Gary F’n Jay. Gary Jay is easily one of the biggest fan favorites in the company, and giving him a major shot at the title shows just how much the promotion respects him as a performer. You might recall that Jay was in the final two of the Fountain City Reserve match, with his pinfall over J Fowler being reset due to a controversial double pin. Fowler ultimately came out on top after that tough referee call, but this could be Jay’s chance to prove that he’s just as deserving of the championship as anyone else on the roster. Camaro Jackson will be no easy task – fans have seen him pull off the unthinkable, like lifting the massive Sam Stackhouse earlier this year. This match should be wild, and I can’t wait to see how it plays out. And, as I mentioned earlier, the specter of J Fowler looms heavily over whatever happens here.

“The Monarch” Jeremy Wyatt VS Erik Surge
The pedigree and escapades of “The Monarch” Jeremy Wyatt really need no introduction here, as he has been a prominent fixture in the Kansas City wrestling scene for decades now, and has been at or near the top of any promotion he’s been in since at least 2021. He held the CSW Heavyweight Championship in both of its iterations for a whopping three years before finally losing it to Gil Rogers. Over the past year, Wyatt has taken on an almost mentor-like role with a few wrestlers, tagging with “Sexy Wrexy” Wrex Amadeus and having some solid matches with Scott Hansen. This match, however, is a return to the sort of challenges he faced in his CSW prime, as Wyatt will square off against Ohio Valley Wrestling’s current and reigning OVW United States Champion, Erik Surge. Surge made an appearance in the Fountain City Reserve briefcase match at Fountain City Over You, and while it was hard to focus on him individually amid all the chaos inside and outside the ring, he still made a strong impression. This clash with one of Kansas City’s finest will be a great showcase for his skills — and I have a feeling it just might be the match of the night.

Heidi Howitzer VS “The Dead Ringer” Aaron Williams for the Destination Championship
This match promises to be a wild one as St. Louis Anarchy Destination Champion Aaron Williams takes on Heidi Howitzer. Williams is a fixture across the Midwest and Appalachian wrestling scenes, even making appearances in the National Wrestling Alliance this year. His sheer volume of experience has made his nearly 390-day reign (as of this writing) ironclad, a run Kansas City fans last saw in action at SLA Journey 2 Anarchy: Homecoming when he successfully defended against former champions Christian Rose and Davey Vega. With the Destination Championship being the former Journey Pro Wrestling title, Heidi could pull off quite the coup by “bringing it back home” for a while. Kansas City fans would no doubt love that bit of wrestling history, but Heidi will have to stay laser-focused – Williams is one of the most serious, no-nonsense competitors out there. No matter the outcome, the crowd is going to erupt for this one.

“Handsome” Scott Hansen vs “Must CTV” Colton Theron Vaught
Making his FCP debut, “Must CTV” Colton Theron Vaught is one of the most athletic professional wrestlers in the region, blending MMA-style striking and submissions into his arsenal, making him a unique competitor and someone worth keeping an eye on. He boasts an impressive fight record outside of professional wrestling with Synergy FC out of Southern Missouri, and somehow manages to balance both sports – something very few athletes can pull off. I’ve seen him tear the house down as far back as his World League Wrestling days, and I’m glad to see him returning to Kansas City this Friday. Across the ring will be another rising star in the area, “Handsome” Scott Hansen, coming off a recent two-match series against Jeremy Wyatt. Hansen will no doubt be looking to put the lessons learned in those bouts to good use here, but facing Vaught is going to be an uphill battle to say the least.

Ashlyn and Shylynn VS Nixi and Izzy
At Fountain City Over You, fans witnessed a women’s fatal four-way between “The Power Rough Girl” Ashlyn Alexander, Shooter Shylynn, “The Ultimate Diva” Izzy B., and “The Main Girl” Nixi XS. Ashlyn may have walked away with the victory, but the story didn’t end there – Izzy and Nixi launched a post-match assault so vicious that Shooter Shylynn had to step in to even the odds. Standing tall together after fending off their attackers, Ashlyn and Shylynn made it clear that the battle lines were drawn. Now, the hinted showdown becomes reality as these two teams face off once and for all to determine the most dominant women in Fountain City Pro.

Four Way Tag Match – Team Double Stuffed, The Standard, The Revolution, and Onlyfriends
The big showcase match for this show skips the usual scramble or other multi-man staples of many FCP events in favor of a massive four-way tag team clash. The teams are: The Standard (Chance Carigan and Rey Leon), OnlyFriends (“The Spotlight” Logan Knight and Stormi Renee), Team Double Stuffed (Tobias Storm and “The Realist” Calvin Aldridge), and The Revolution (Quest Parker and Anthony Lopes). With that much talent in one match, fans can expect a human highlight reel from bell to bell. The stakes are high – winning here could catapult any of these teams up the FCP ladder, especially since the tag team pecking order is still taking shape. Whether this is fought under tornado rules or standard tags, one thing is certain: the crowd is in for a wild ride.

The Premier VS ACFC
Last but definitely not least is going to be a tag team banger that has been a long time coming. The Premier (Campbell Myers and SK Bishop) have already taken down the likes of OnlyFriends and the unlikely pairing of Moonshine Mantell and Luke Langley, and they show no signs of slowing their crusade against the entire Fountain City Pro tag team division. Their next “target” for salvation is ACFC, the team of Tommy 2 Good (T2G) and Austin Reddick. ACFC has spent a good chunk of time battling The Standard, but after The Standard’s rather embarrassing loss at Fountain City Over You, it seems the time has come for a fresh challenge. Reddick and T2G are a well-rounded duo, combining skill, chemistry, and athleticism that could match The Premier blow for blow. If they can keep their grip on those tag ropes and follow the rulebook to the letter, something The Premier will no doubt insist upon, they might just have what it takes to derail this ill-conceived crusade.
