PREVIEW: Fountain City Pro – Light it Up 2 (March 14, 2025)

An upcoming live professional wrestling event

PREVIEW: Fountain City Pro – Light it Up 2 (March 14, 2025)

One of my biggest regrets from last year in covering Kansas City professional wrestling was missing out on any live shows from Fountain City Pro due to my work schedule. This year, I’m making it a priority to attend as many as possible. With the promotion celebrating its one-year anniversary this month, I have no doubt they’ll put on an great show, featuring both the top talent that helped build the company from the ground up and plenty of exciting new faces. To kick things off, I want to go over the full card and key announcements for Light It Up 2, set to take place later this week at the Ball Event Center in Olathe, Kansas. If you’re looking for a more in-depth breakdown, the company released a video earlier this week that covers a lot of these details, including some previously unannounced matches. You can check it out here:

As is the case with most local shows, doors open at 6 PM, and the action kicks off at 7 PM. However, there was a mention of a possible preshow, so arriving early wouldn’t be a bad idea. In total, there are nine matches scheduled for the night.

The Card:

This could easily change by the time of the show, as they say, “The card is subject to change” and “The show must go on”. If for some reason more matches get added or anything changes, I will try to keep this updated.

One of the biggest new announcements for Light It Up 2 is the introduction of a brand-new match concept, a yet-to-be-named Battle Royale match. This was revealed during FCP’s official card breakdown video, where Chase from FCP announced an invitational battle royale would take place. Additionally, several previously unannounced names were mentioned, though it’s unclear whether they will be directly involved in this match. Among them is “All Steel” J. Fowler, who came incredibly close to becoming the FCP Champion and is likely coming in with a score to settle. Also mentioned was Leon King, a new face primarily competing in the Nebraska/Iowa circuit, as well as Saraya Sabre. Fans of CSW will also recognize Shain Boucher, a key player in their 2023 tag division. Returning talents include Chance Carrigan (accompanied by Dickie Richards), Austin Reddick, and “Sexy” Wrex Amadeus, among others. The company also teased a potential matchup between Quest Parker and Noah Clover, possibly taking place on the preshow.

With his rivalry against “Sexy” Wrex Amadeus seemingly behind him, “Handsome” Scott Hansen is looking to turn the page with an open challenge at Light It Up 2. However, Hansen has made it clear that he’s not interested in facing just anyone – he’s openly stated that he “doesn’t want just any geek off the streets.” Instead, he’s demanding that whoever steps up brings their absolute best. This could be an opportunity for a fresh face to make a statement or for an established name to test Hansen at his own game.

Also announced was an appearance by The Main Attraction, also known as Team Double Stuffed, the duo of Tobias Storm and Calvin Aldridge. While their team name may constantly evolve, there’s no questioning the pedigree of these two championship-caliber veterans of the Kansas City scene. Putting their past differences aside, they’re set to bring the fight to Olathe, Kansas, and make their presence felt at Light It Up 2.

Anakin Murphy vs. “The Komisar” Jake ParnellAnakin Murphy has long been one of Missouri’s most overlooked talents, but he proved beyond a doubt that he belongs at the top after his victory over Gary Jay at Fountain City Pro: Wayward Son. That win cemented his demand for respect in an industry that often disregards him due to his size or appearance. Now, he faces an entirely different challenge in “The Komisar” Jake Parnell, formerly known as WARHORSE, a ruthless and nihilistic force in the Midwest wrestling scene. Parnell is a no-nonsense competitor, and this match will push Murphy beyond his limits. Adding fuel to the fire, Murphy is coming into this fight furious with Parnell, stemming from the continued mistreatment of his younger brother. Back in the fall of 2024 at St. Louis Anarchy, Murphy lost a match that resulted in his brother being forced into servitude under Parnell, and the grudge between them has only intensified. Expect this match to be an all-out war.

Tag Team Match – Only Friends vs. The PremierSK Bishop and Campbell Myers, The Premier, have been a constant thorn in the side of Fountain City Pro since their arrival last summer, making it their mission to mock and ridicule the company during its formative months. The duo has a clear vendetta against FCP’s handling of its tag team division, claiming they’re here to “fix” things – though their version of “help” seems more about tearing down everything the company has built. On the other side, Only Friends are the heart and soul of FCP. Logan Knight and Stormi Renee have helped define what sets this promotion apart from the rest of the Kansas City wrestling scene, and they aren’t about to let a couple of outsiders disrespect everything they’ve worked for. Expect this match to be an all-out fight as Only Friends look to send The Premier packing and defend their home turf.

Singles Match – Heidi Howitzer vs. Ashlyn AlexanderHeidi Howitzer makes her long-awaited return to Kansas City, last appearing at Fountain City Pro’s second event, Bombs Over Ball, where she faced Camaro Jackson. Having recovered from an injury sustained last summer, Heidi now faces the familiar challenge of returning to the ring after a long absence. This could go one of two ways—either she’ll be refreshed and stronger than ever, or she might struggle with some ring rust as she adjusts back to competition.

Standing in her way is Ashlyn Alexander, one of the area’s fastest-rising stars in women’s wrestling. Ashlyn made her debut at Bombs Over Ball in the Guy’s Snacks Invitational Battle Royale and left a lasting impression with her performance. A win over a nationally recognized competitor like Heidi would be a major statement for Ashlyn, solidifying her place among the top talents in the region. With both women eager to prove themselves, this match has all the makings of a show-stealer and is easily one of the most intriguing bouts on the card.

Singles Match – Luke Langley (w/ Greg Jovi) vs. Fuego Del SolKansas City fans will likely recognize Fuego Del Sol from his impressive runs in AEW, ROH, and a standout appearance at Tri States Wrestling about a year ago. Fuego has become something of a viral sensation, having used his immense fan support to secure an AEW contract post-COVID and embarking on a nationwide tour where he sharpened his skills and became the dangerous competitor he is today.

However, Fuego faces a formidable challenge in “The Black Diamond” Luke Langley, also known as “The Goddamn Killing Machine.” Langley is one of the most feared wrestlers in the Kansas City scene, and with Greg Jovi in his corner, he’s even more dangerous. Jovi’s track record speaks for itself – under his leadership, his Miracle Violence Reborn team dominated CSW’s tag team division throughout 2023. The question is whether Fuego’s mastery of the Tornado DDT will be enough to take down Langley, or if Langley and Jovi will begin a new chapter in their dominance in Kansas City.

Main Event – Sam Stackhouse vs. “The Grand Regent” Camaro JacksonThe Fountain City Pro Heavyweight Champion, Camaro Jackson, faces a major test in his first title defense against none other than the internet sensation Sam Stackhouse. Stackhouse has become one of the hottest big men on the independent scene, making waves in GCW and beyond. At over 340 pounds and standing 6’3”, Stackhouse combines his immense size with surprising agility – he’s like an F5 tornado, leaving destruction in his wake.

But Camaro Jackson is not one to be intimidated. After grinding through the Fountain City Pro Championship Tournament for months, Jackson secured his place in history as the promotion’s first-ever champion. Jackson’s explosive power is unmatched – despite Stackhouse’s size, don’t be surprised if Jackson hoists him up and tosses him around like a ragdoll. This clash of strength and agility promises to be a hard-hitting, high-stakes main event that could set the tone for Jackson’s reign as champion!
