PREVIEW: Trailblazer Championship Wrestling – Revenge (February 15, 2025)

Trailblazer Championship Wrestling continues to deliver some of the best women’s wrestling in the region, and their upcoming Revenge event promises to be no exception, featuring a returning contender and a fresh face making her Kansas City debut. “The Versace of Violence” Nixi XS has built a reputation for doing whatever it takes to win, a strategy that has served her well in Trailblazer rings. Nearly a year has passed since she last appeared in Gardner, Kansas, where she and Aminah Belmont secured a hard-fought victory over Skylar Sparks and Tootie Lynn in tag team action. Since then, Nixi has gained even more experience, competing across the Midwest and Upper South. Now sharper, tougher, and more devious than ever, she’s a dangerous competitor with something to prove.

Her opponent, “The Outlaw” Sadie Belle, is cut from a different cloth. A hard-hitting, no-nonsense country girl, Sadie has made her mark in Iowa, Nebraska, and beyond. Now she’s set her sights on Kansas City, determined to make an impression on a new audience, crack a few cold ones, and celebrate with a well-earned victory. While Nixi XS thrives on being the center of attention and acting above the crowd, Sadie’s grounded, brawler style may be just the thing to bring her back down to earth. This clash of styles and personalities promises to be a must-see for Kansas City’s women’s wrestling fans. Will Nixi’s cunning tactics give her the edge, or will Sadie’s grit and toughness carry her to victory?

A standard ring simply cannot contain the sheer mass of humanity involved in this colossal clash. “The Iron Pitbull” Kenny Kingston is set to take on “The Unnatural Disaster” Salum Gust, and with both men being absolute behemoths, Trailblazer Championship Wrestling management has wisely chosen to reinforce the ring structure. Given the combined size and power of these two goliaths, that extra precaution may be the only thing keeping this match from turning into complete chaos, protecting fans and competitors alike.

On one side, you have Kenny Kingston, a towering force of nature tipping the scales at nearly 350 pounds. Not only does Kingston dominate with raw power, but he’s shockingly agile for a man of his size. His reputation as a near-unstoppable force has been well-earned in places like Central Missouri, where he’s left a trail of battered opponents in his wake. On the other side stands Salum Gust, who has only grown more dangerous since coming under the tutelage of the notorious Dekin Cane. Pound for pound, Gust may be the strongest wrestler in Trailblazer. His power is almost inhuman – he can lift anyone with ease, making even the biggest wrestlers look like ragdolls. Fans will remember Gust’s explosive presence when he interfered in the Trailblazer Heavyweight Tournament, tossing Curt Gannon aside as if he were nothing more than a damp towel.

The question is, can the reinforced ring handle the impact when these two titans collide? One thing’s for sure – this match will be a true test of strength, resilience, and perhaps even the ring itself. Let’s see which of these monsters emerges victorious!

The Wranglers had an impressive run throughout most of 2024, only tasting defeat for the first time at Taking Over when the powerhouse duo of Salum Gust and Rocco the Barbarian knocked a little wind out of their sails. Now fully recovered and ready to ride again, the boys from Turner, Kansas, Bobby Joe Black and Johnnie Jo Black, are looking to kick off 2025 with a fresh start. Standing in their way, however, is a new threat in the form of the shockingly aptly named, The New Guys!

Don’t let the playful name fool you – Jake Bosche and Scott Stanley come with serious credentials. Trained by some of the best in St. Louis wrestling, including WARHORSE, Kody Lane, Camaro Jackson, and Mike Outlaw, this team has built a reputation for being one of the most dominant forces in Glory Pro and other St. Louis promotions. They have numerous wins over some fairly dominant teams such as The premier, so this could be a tough hill for the Black Brothers to climb. The New Guys are making their debut in Trailblazer Championship Wrestling determined to leave a lasting impression on the Kansas City scene. Will the fan favorite hometown pride of the Wranglers win out against the hungry, high-energy style of The New Guys or will they need a complete overhaul of their tactics? This matchup promises to set the tone for the future of Trailblazer’s tag division in 2025!

Oh no. By The Gods, brace yourselves. The announcement of “The Return of Van ‘Bam’ Winkle” feels less like a wrestling event announcement and more like a cosmic threat – like NASA casually warning us about an asteroid on a collision course with Earth, and only a few days left waiting to see what happens. Even worse is the timing. One day after Valentine’s Day means the self-proclaimed ladies’ man will likely have struck out and show up in a foul mood, ready to rebound in the most obnoxious way possible. Every fan, Miss Wendy, female staffers, and anyone within a five-mile radius should be on high alert. Purple sweater. Rose in hand. White slacks, Disaster incoming.

When we last saw VBW, he was tangled in an ongoing feud with the voice of Trailblazer, Marcus, managing to embarrass himself in almost every way imaginable over the span of a few short months. His antics ultimately cost him a shot at the Trailblazer Heavyweight Championship, losing in record time during the title tournament. Here’s hoping Van has taken some time to get his act together, steers clear of his usual antics, and avoids stirring up drama the moment he walks through the curtain. His career desperately needs a turnaround, and maybe, just maybe, this could be his chance to prove he’s more than a punchline.

Dekin Cane has clearly been scheming for months (if not years at this point) to assemble his own personal dream team, a faction that could dominate anyone in Trailblazer Championship Wrestling. Increasingly, it seems like his plan is paying off with the unholy alliance of Salum Gust, Miracle Mike James, and Rocco the Barbarian. Despite a few early setbacks, this quartet has grown into a formidable force and seems poised to make a serious run at championship gold in 2025. Their next test comes in a tag team match featuring Miracle Mike James and Rocco the Barbarian against the returning Kit Sackett and his partner, Rellie Carter. Sackett is no stranger to Trailblazer fans, having wrestled back in March 2023 in a tag match with Van “Bam” Winkle against Jared Thumb and Corn Boi, as well as making an appearance in that year’s Bunkhouse Brawl. However, Trailblazer has evolved in the last two years, and the crowd reaction alone might catch Sackett by surprise on his return.

As for Rellie Carter, he’s something of a wildcard. I’m unfamiliar with his previous work, but fresh blood in the Trailblazer ring is always welcome (let’s hope not literally though!). Hopefully, his unpredictable status will be the key that helps Sackett overcome Dekin Cane’s growing empire. All they have to do is stay one step ahead of Cane’s tactics, or at the very least, get Cane to any conveniently placed tables! He hates those!

“Astonishing” Austin Mulitalo stunned the wrestling world last May by capturing the Trailblazer Championship Wrestling Heavyweight Championship in controversial fashion. With the help of outside interference, Mulitalo secured a tainted victory over “The Suplex Cyclone” Curt Gannon in the finals of the first-ever Heavyweight Championship Tournament, becoming the inaugural champion. But since that night, the title reign has been clouded with mystery and controversy. Mulitalo has missed the last two Trailblazer events, leaving fans and management alike wondering: Where is the champ? Why hasn’t he defended the title?

Faced with the possibility of being stripped of the belt, Mulitalo finally agreed to the long-awaited rematch, now NINE months in the making. Now, Curt Gannon will get another shot at the championship he believes should have been his all along. Fueled by months of frustration and laser-sharp focus, Gannon is determined to take back what he feels is rightfully his. Armed with a dangerous new weapon, his Severn Choke submission, Gannon has been wrecking opponents left and right in the latter half of 2024, racking up dominant submission wins over Big Munch and Alvin Falcone. His mission is clear: wrap those powerful arms around Mulitalo’s neck and squeeze every ounce of fight out of him in front of the very fans the champion has seemingly abandoned. This showdown has all the makings of a match that could blow the roof off the Trailblazer Arena. Mulitalo may have escaped once, but Gannon is ready – and this time, there’s nowhere to run.

PREVIEW: Trailblazer Championship Wrestling – Revenge (February 15, 2025)

In Summary, Trailblazer Championship Wrestling: Revenge is set to deliver an exciting night of action-packed matches. “The Versace of Violence” Nixi XS returns to face “Outlaw” Sadie Belle in a clash of cunning versus grit. The tag team The Wranglers, Bobby Joe and Johnnie Jo Black, are ready to rebound from a tough loss as they take on The New Guys, a dominant duo from St. Louis. Dekin Cane’s faction continues its reign of chaos as Miracle Mike James and Rocco the Barbarian battle Kit Sackett and newcomer Rellie Carter. Meanwhile, “The Iron Pitbull” Kenny Kingston squares off with “The Unnatural Disaster” Salum Gust in a monstrous matchup so intense that the ring had to be reinforced. In the main event, Trailblazer Heavyweight Champion “Astonishing” Austin Mulitalo makes his long-awaited return to defend the title against “The Suplex Cyclone” Curt Gannon, who’s determined to settle unfinished business and walk away with the championship. This stacked card is a must-see for Kansas City wrestling fans.

Oh! and I am absolutely terrified with what Van “Bam” Winkle will be up to!!
