PREVIEW: Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling – Destiny 2025

An Upcoming Professional Wrestling show

PREVIEW: Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling – Destiny 2025

It was just one year ago when I walked into the National Guard Armory in Independence, Missouri, for my first KCXW show. Since then, Kansas City’s longest-running wrestling company has become one of my go-to destinations for professional wrestling, and I’ve made it a point to attend as many of their events as possible. This year, KCXW is returning to Independence, but with a new venue called City House. From what I’ve seen, it’s a church and community center with a sizable auditorium, making it an intriguing setting for a wrestling show. My last wrestling event in 2024 was held in a similar venue in Marshall, MO, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. With that in mind, I’m excited to see how this show pans out.

PREVIEW: Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling – Destiny 2025

This main event is shaping up to be a massive showdown. The Kansas City Champion himself, Tobias Storm, will finally go head-to-head with the monstrous “Iron Pitbull” Kenny Kingston. These two were supposed to face off way back in the summer as part of Richard Goldman’s crusade against Storm during the KCXW Season of Xcellence Tournament. But Kingston pulled out at the last minute due to a bounced check from Goldman, leaving Goldman high and dry. Now the stakes are even higher. With Storm holding the Kansas City Championship, “The Iron Pitbull” is ready to take on the man many call “pound for pound the strongest in Kansas City” and try to claim the title for himself.

Kingston is one of the hottest rising stars in the metro area right now. He’s already holding championships in central Missouri and dominating across multiple promotions, but this might be his toughest challenge yet – a chance to win championship gold where it all began. Storm, meanwhile, has the KCXW crowd firmly in his corner, which should give him a big confidence boost and help him get the upper hand, unless, of course, something shady happens. And let’s be honest: interference is always on the table.

There are a few former KCXW Champions who didn’t exactly lose their belts on their own terms, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to make their presence known during this event. “Hard Luck” Hal Rogers especially seems furious with Tobias Storm, and promises to make an appearance at the show. Tobias better keep his head on a swivel!

After a heartbreaking loss to “Hard Luck” Hal Rogers in a three-way Kansas City Championship Iron Man match at Xtreme Liberty, “The Big Bruda” Clay Huna has been focused on winning gold by any means necessary. His journey led him to a hard-fought victory over “Iron Pitbull” Kenny Kingston at Xcellence to secure a number-one contendership for the Metro Championship, currently held by reigning champion El Diablo. Taking that title from the hands of the Aztec Demon from the year 3000 won’t be easy, but Clay Huna has proven time and again that he has the heart and determination of a true champion. Unfortunately, luck hasn’t always been on his side in big matches—until now.

Picking a favorite in this match is almost impossible. Both men have built strong fanbases and are deeply beloved by the crowd. The real story here is Clay Huna’s climb back to the top after spending time on the back burner. He’s endured criticism for choking in big moments or failing to win when it counted most. If he can claim this victory, it will be another step toward achieving his ultimate goal of becoming THE face of Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling.

Still, this is El Diablo’s match to lose. With his high-flying arsenal and over a year of dominance against all challengers, he’s no pushover. The stakes are high, and the potential for this to steal the show as the match of the night is undeniable!

PREVIEW: Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling – Destiny 2025

This is a big one—the highly anticipated return of Shooter Shylynn! Sidelined since late 2023 with a severe knee injury (read more about that in my exclusive interview HERE), Shylynn’s comeback has been a hot topic in the local wrestling scene. Will she come back? When will she come back? Who is she going to face? Despite her age, Shylynn has already built an impressive track record of standout matches, making her injury an especially tough setback. Her top priority is clear: reclaiming the Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling Women’s Championship she was forced to relinquish last summer. Adding fuel to the fire is the nefarious Lady Pride, a member of the Xtremists, who has been parading around in one of the most disgraceful acts of stolen valor in pro wrestling – pretending to be the rightful Women’s Champion with an attitude of “possession is 9/10s of the law”.

I’m sure Lady Pride will make her presence known at this event (she said as much in an interview), and I fear her allies in the Xtremists will do everything they can to keep that belt in her hands. Still, here’s hoping that somebodyanybody—finally becomes the rightful champion. Shooter Shylynn will face none other than Camron Branae, a former NXT superstar and possibly Shylynn’s biggest threat yet. The last time we saw Camron, she was locked in a heated family feud with her long-time frenemy, “The Realist” Calvin Aldridge. But now, with a championship opportunity in front of her, you can bet she’ll be laser-focused on this match.

PREVIEW: Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling – Destiny 2025

These past few months have been rough for “All Slay” Angel Shay. After enduring a series of humiliating losses – most notably against Lady Pride in a grueling hardcore match at Xtreme LibertyAngel’s momentum seemed all but lost. Her struggles continued when she failed to clinch a chance at the KCXW Metro Championship during a Battle Royale in Linn, Missouri. To make matters worse, she lost via referee stoppage due to injury on the Patreon-exclusive Checkpoint: Fate special event. A string of crushing defeats like this can weigh heavily on anyone, and it seemed Angel was on the verge of hanging up her boots for good.

Enter Charlie Graham. The rookie upstart reminded Angel of her unwavering support during his own career-threatening injury in 2023, urging her to pick herself up and push forward with his support. With his encouragement, it looks like Angel isn’t ready to call it quits just yet. The two are teaming up for this show, and fans are hoping the partnership will reignite the fire that made Angel Shay such a formidable force in the ring in the past. “Wild n’ Untamed” will make their tag team debut at Destiny!

Standing in their way, however, is one of KCXW’s most dominant tag teams in recent memory: The United Patriots (Atlas Armstrong & Old Glory). Since forming last summer during an episode of KCXW Showcase, the duo has been on a tear, defeating teams featuring former champions like Dr. Isin and Bigg Dogg. Their raw power and undeniable chemistry make them a formidable challenge for any opponent. This matchup is a steep uphill climb for Shay and Graham, but if even a glimpse of the “old” Angel emerges, anything is possible.

PREVIEW: Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling – Destiny 2025

The next match is one I’m especially looking forward to, not just because it promises to be a show-stealer, but because it’s sponsored by this very website! As always, a big thank you to KCXW for the opportunity to help bring incredible wrestling to fans across Kansas City. This feud began during the Checkpoint: Fate Patreon special when, after a hard-fought match between Sykawtic and Blaire Dior, none other than Talon stormed to the ring with a metal pan with an envelope and a blowtorch in his hand. Why? Nobody quite knew. Talon insulted the crowd before turning his attention to Sykawtic, accusing him of being a sellout – “a cog in the KCXW machine” who resorted to face paint and bizarre antics just to cash a paycheck. To drive the point home, Talon burned his own envelope of money right there in the pan, leaving Sykawtic, and the audience, baffled.

Now, the two are set to square off. Talon is someone I’ve seen a lot of lately, and his high-flying ability has been nothing short of impressive. He’s taken down opponents much larger and cockier than himself and is quickly carving out a reputation in the Missouri wrestling scene. However, perhaps that success has gone to his head? Maybe he’s starting to believe his own hype. On the other hand, Sykawtic is the perfect foil to Talon’s antics. Unorthodox and unpredictable, Sykawtic’s style leaves most opponents scrambling to figure out a strategy, and if anyone can put an end to Talon’s self-aggrandizing nonsense, it’s him.

This promises to be a spectacular match featuring two of Kansas City’s hottest rising stars. I’m thrilled to help bring it to the fans!

PREVIEW: Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling – Destiny 2025

“The Diamond” Marco Hendrixxx has quickly proven himself to be a show-stopper and standout star among KCXW’s recent slate of graduated trainees. While I’ve only had the chance to see him in action a handful of times, every match has been a thrill. He exudes that natural star power that connects with the crowd from day one, and his rise has been a treat to watch.

Hendrixxx is about to face perhaps his toughest challenge yet in “The Aerial Attraction” James Moore. Moore is no stranger to jaw-dropping performances, having successfully won tag-team handicap matches and even diving off heavy machinery in recent months. He’s a competitor who thrives in high-stakes scenarios, and I don’t expect him to give Hendrixxx an easy path to victory. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Moore takes the win decisively—it’s well within his capabilities.

One notable factor in this match is the absence of Moore’s former stablemates, “The Realist” Calvin Aldridge and “Wrestling’s Finest” Blaire Dior. With Aldridge losing a “Loser Leaves KCXW” match and seemingly exiting the company, the apparent dissolution of The Main Attraction has left Moore standing alone. While Moore has never needed backup to dominate, it feels strange to see the end of a faction that ran roughshod over KCXW for the better part of a year.

Regardless of the circumstances, this matchup promises to deliver. With two incredible athletes squaring off, it’s a must-see match that I’m very excited about.

PREVIEW: Kansas City Xtreme Wrestling – Destiny 2025

The final match on the card we’re going to look at promises to be an intriguing clash as the relative newcomer, the luchador El Toro, steps into the ring against “The Polish Powerhouse” Gerard Jaworski. Jaworski has been making waves since his recent return to action following an injury last spring, adopting a more menacing and focused demeanor. When asked about what fans could expect from this matchup, his response was chillingly simple: “Destruction.”

While it would be exciting to see El Toro pull off a surprise victory, standing across from a former champion like Jaworski is no small feat. The experience and renewed drive of “The Polish Powerhouse” make him a formidable opponent, and it seems he’s determined to begin his climb back to the top of the KCXW ranks.
