Fans in Gardner, Kansas, have plenty to look forward to as they have announced some great talent for this show, including the return of a fan-favorite tag team. “Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, Johnnie and Bobby Joe?” That’s right –Bobby Joe Black and Johnnie Jo Black, better known as The Wranglers, are set to make their triumphant return to the Trailblazer Arena, looking to close out their incredible year in style. The Wranglers have had a remarkable turnaround in 2024. After a rough end to 2023 – with Bobby Joe splitting victories with Salum Gust in a heated rivalry and Johnnie Jo unable to secure a single win – the brothers from Turner, Kansas, are now undefeated as a tag team in Trailblazer this year. Their grit and perseverance have made them a force to be reckoned with. While their opponents haven’t been announced yet, one thing is certain: these tough-as-nails farmhands always deliver a thrilling performance.
Speaking of Salum Gust, his name has also been added to the show lineup. However, questions surround his future as his mentor, “Madman” Max Sterling, has been sidelined with a broken orbital bone and bruised ribs following his brutal match with Camaro Jackson last month. Sterling’s absence leaves Gust without his usual advantage of heavily-armed backup. The big question on everyone’s mind: can Gust adapt and stand on his own, or will he reveal yet another devious plan to maintain his dominance in Trailblazer?

Next up is a highly anticipated clash between Robin Steele and the ever-charismatic “YOGAMONSTER” Mike Sydal. Robin Steele has been making waves in Trailblazer Championship Wrestling recently, thanks to his unholy alliance with Miracle Mike James. In my opinion, this partnership has the potential to shake up the company’s pecking order in a big way. Adding Dekin Cane to the mix—assuming he’s fully recovered from his nasty fall off the apron (and through a table) could solidify Steele’s position. Cane’s managerial prowess has already contributed to numerous victories, and his involvement might make this faction the most dominant force in the Midwest.
While Steele is undoubtedly outmatched in terms of experience and technical prowess, he compensates with his penchant for bending the rules and taking underhanded shortcuts. If the referees aren’t vigilant, his sneaky tactics – especially with potential interference from his newfound posse – could dramatically alter the course of this match.
That said, “YOGAMONSTER” Mike Sydal is no stranger to the squared circle – or to bending the rules himself during certain phases of his storied career. With his years of experience and a deep bag of tricks, Sydal will need to channel his focus, align his chakras, and keep his third eye open to avoid falling victim to Steele’s antics. If he can rise above the chaos and counter any bad vibrations, Sydal has what it takes to come out on top and secure a decisive victory.

Speaking of Miracle Mike James, it seems my prediction about his ongoing feud with Luke Anthony being far from over after the events of Monster’s Brawl 3 was spot on. After his match with Robin Steele was derailed by James’ interference – and later suffering a vicious beatdown courtesy of Dekin Cane’s wrench – October proved to be a tough month for Luke Anthony. Widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound athletes in the Midwest, Anthony now has one thing driving him: retribution.
The stakes have been raised with this newly announced No Disqualification match, a stipulation that opens the floodgates for chaos. It’s all but certain that Robin Steele and Dekin Cane will make their presence felt, and if Anthony walks into this battle alone, it could be a repeat of his previous humiliation – with the added sting of a loss. Luke Anthony will need more than raw talent and determination to triumph this time; he’ll need a solid contingency plan to counter James’ underhanded tactics and his allies’ inevitable interference. Here’s hoping Anthony brings some backup of his own, because he’s walking into a war zone.

Next up is the first of a couple of matches I’m keeping an open mind about, as they feature competitors I’m not too familiar with! That said, I absolutely love seeing new blood come into the area, and I can’t wait to see what these guys bring to the ring. First on deck is “Mr. Locked and Loaded” Alvin Falcone, making his Trailblazer debut. Falcone is no rookie, with a career decorated by championships – including a stint as AWF Champion and currently holding half of the NLW Tag Team Championships. Known for competing heavily in the north and St. Louis wrestling scenes, he’s now stepping into new territory, and what better way to do it than against a high-caliber opponent?
That opponent is none other than “The Suplex Cyclone” Curt Gannon, the Trailblazer Heavyweight Championship number-one contender. Gannon has been on an absolute tear lately, fresh off a grueling clash with “Big Munch”, a dominant victory using his deadly Severn Choke. He’s laser-focused as he prepares for his inevitable rematch with the mysteriously absent Astonishing Austin Mulitalo. (#wheresthechamp) This match has all the makings of a show-stealer. Falcone’s impressive résumé speaks volumes, but Gannon’s relentless momentum and hunger to solidify his path to gold could prove to be an unstoppable force. I have no idea how this will play out, but that’s what makes it so exciting!

Another wild card for this show might not be so mysterious to long-time Trailblazer fans: “The Cryonic Redneck” Tim Boston is making his return! Last seen during Trailblazer’s Olathe era, Boston is back and ready to reintroduce himself to the fans while carving out a new legacy in the ever-evolving Trailblazer scene. Coming all the way from Nebraska, Boston is stepping into a promotion that’s grown leaps and bounds since his last appearance in 2022. Personally, I only started attending Trailblazer events in early 2023, so I unfortunately missed out on his earlier matches—but I’m excited to see what he brings to the table now.
That said, Boston has quite the uphill battle as he faces none other than Rocco the Barbarian, who is not only reinvigorated and recharged but seems more in tune with his berserker ancestors than ever before. Rocco, alongside his eccentric manager Dekin Cane, is a force to be reckoned with. For much of 2024, Rocco was completely off the radar. After a first-round loss in the Trailblazer Heavyweight Championship tournament, he vanished without a trace, leaving even Dekin Cane to fret over his whereabouts – at one point hilariously attempting to hire a psychic to find him! Most assumed Rocco had retreated back into nature, embracing the isolation he once lived in as a true barbarian of old.
Now he’s back and stronger than ever. Last month, Rocco made a triumphant return with a massive win over “Rapid Delivery” Rory Fox. That victory, however, came at the expense of Dekin Cane, who ended up smashing into the timekeeper’s table in one of THE moments of 2024. The question now is: can Rocco keep his momentum going and add another win to his streak? Or will The Cryonic Redneck Tim Boston shock everyone with a major upset? Either way, this match has all the makings of a real banger!

Finally, we have to talk about the main event for the evening – a groundbreaking match that marks the first-ever women’s main event in Trailblazer history. This historic bout features Maggie Lee squaring off against “The Phoenix Princess” Aminah Belmont. This clash has roots stretching back to one of the very first Trailblazer shows, where these two competed in the first women’s match in the promotion’s history. Since that momentous encounter, Maggie and Aminah have taken separate paths, both making significant impacts in their respective careers.
Aminah Belmont has been a cornerstone of Trailblazer’s women’s division, earning more wins than any other female competitor and maintaining an impressive undefeated streak deep into 2024. Her consistent dominance has solidified her as one of the company’s top stars. Maggie Lee, on the other hand, has carved out her legacy on a national stage. She’s appeared for major promotions such as All Elite Wrestling (AEW), Ring of Honor (ROH), and Total Nonstop Action (TNA), cementing her reputation as a force to be reckoned with. Both women are more seasoned, more driven, and more skilled than ever, making this rematch – over two years in the making – a truly epic showdown.
One intriguing factor to consider is the absence of Aminah’s long-time manager, SBC. Known for his brash attitude and disdain for American fans, SBC delivered on his promise to leave Trailblazer and return to Canada following the Gold Rush event, citing his disgust with the fans as the major reason for his leaving. While Aminah has proven time and time again that she’s a formidable competitor in her own right, SBC’s strategic presence at ringside often tilted the scales in her favor. Without SBC in her corner, Aminah now faces an opportunity to prove she doesn’t need his antics to succeed – or risk being thrown off her game without his guidance. Will his departure mark a return to the “straight and narrow” for Aminah, or will she have something else up her sleeve? This match is more than just a rematch; it’s a chance for both women to showcase their evolution as competitors and make history yet again. The stakes couldn’t be higher, and the fans in Gardner, Kansas are in for a main event to remember!
