Pro Wrestling Crate December 2018 Unboxing / Review

Here’s part two of my wrestling box double header – The December box From Pro Wrestling Crate.

Pro Wrestling Crate always gives some of their proceeds to charity and this month is no exception. This time They donated a huge box of Micro Brawlers to Toys for Tots. The ever popular Marine Corps. charity has been delivering hope and joy to children in need for over 80 years. Pretty awesome guys!

If you’d like to see more reviews of the various subscription boxes I get, please head right on over HERE and check out the spoilers. If you’d like to get your very own Pro Wrestling Crate USE THIS LINK and use the coupon code “Home” to get 20% off your first crate.

This month’s theme was:

Spoiler Card

Shirts: Cody and Young Bucks

Very colorful shirts, The Cody one is pretty solid assuming it’s a He-Man reference as I suspect – shame Cody’s title run wasn’t very long 😦

Okada Micro Brawler

One of the more colorful Micro Brawlers, love the attention to detail.

The Elite Christmas Tree Ornament

pretty nice quality – solid wood for that rustic feel.

Zack Ryder Autographed 8×10

Woo Woo Woo – nice autograph.

Boone: The Bounty Hunter film DVD

Boone the Bounty Hunter follows Boone, America’s favorite reality-show bounty hunter and his crew, Kat, Denny and Jackson, as they ‘Boone’ the crap out of delinquent celebutantes. Although Boone is a talented parkour practitioner, he’s a bit naïve as to how his skills translate in the real world. No matter. If you’re a celebrity and you break the law, you’re gonna get Boone’d!

After the threat of his reality TV show getting cancelled, Boone looks for a case that will be ratings gold. A friend that works at the DEA owes Boone a favor, and gives him a tip of a mysterious drug that can’t be traced. Boone and his crew think that capturing the perpetrator could save their show and they begin investigating. It’s only when they come toe-to-toe with a dangerous Mexican drug cartel do they realize they’re in over the heads and are trying to save their own lives instead. In an epic battle royale, Boone and his crew learn what sacrifice, honor and trust really mean.

The stunts alone make Boone the Bounty Hunter an American classic. This fast-paced, electrifying story is captivating and compelling. Boone is our modern-day vigilante, bent on justice at any price. A whore house! People fighting to the death! Killing bad guys and whoopin’ ass! Drug dealers, Celebs and corrupt cops beware.

America, you’re welcome.

The Verdict – Not a bad box, just a tad weaker last Month overall – While I like Cody and the Young Bucks, the art on the two shirts is not my favorite, and shirts are usually my #1 item in these things. I think my favorite thing might be the Johnny Mundo DVD or the Okad Micro Brawler.

Next Month, the theme is:

Pro Wrestling Crate November 2018 Unboxing / Review

I’ve had two crates sitting on my table for too long, so I’m now behind on these! So what does that mean? That’s means everyone is getting a double dose of fine wrestling swag from the fine ladies and gentlemen over at Pro Wrestling Tees.

Pro Wrestling Crate always gives some of their proceeds to charity and this month is no exception. This time some of the money has gone to the Leukemia Research Foundation. This is, of course, very timely considering that not too long ago Roman Reigns came out to the fans with the bad news that he once again was fighting a tough battle against an old opponent – Leukemia.

Shirts – “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and Terry Funk

I remember when I first got into hardcore wrestling during the VHS days of the attitude era / Monday Night Wars period. I had a buddy that used to get FMW tapes featuring Terry Funk, and immediately became enamored with this crazy old dude that didn’t care what anyone thought and kicked ass despite being like 54 at the time. I noticed he always had this awesome “Funk U” shirt that seemingly was never on sale anywhere so I figured that was that. That is until now! The Austin shirt is pretty slick as well. Amazing shirts this month.

Eddie Guerrero Micro Brawler figurine

Dustin Rhodes – Goldust Pen

Pretty cool that it actually has gold leaf (or a reasonable facsimile) floating inside it.

ACH autographed 8×10

Booker T’s Best of Reality of Wrestling DVD

At one point, Booker T was constantly on a ton of wrestling podcasts hyping up Reality of Wrestling, so having a DVD of some of their matches is going to be fun.

Booker T collector’s Pin

Lance Archer: Killer Elite Squad Sticker

Pretty solid box as always! For me, the highlight was easily that Terry Funk shirt, but everything in here was pretty good.

Next Month’s Theme is

It looks like Lucha Loot is no more :( …. For now at least

Well poop…. It seems that another mystery subscription box provider is having issues and will no longer be producing crates for the foreseeable feature. I just received an E-mail from the company that produces Lucha Loot, a box that I have prominently featured on here before, signaling that there will be no more for a while. A least it appears that the box is going away for a good reason – the company is getting bigger, but not big enough for the two guys that ran it to keep running it at full-force.

I’ve been speaking the past few month’s about my dealings with Loot Crate and their seemingly inevitable death spiral that they have started – They are exactly 4 boxes behind on Star Trek mission crate, for instance :/ It almost seems like these boxes basically hit some sort of peak saturation point at one point, and have sadly started to slip away across the board.

Assuming it never comes back, I will remember Lucha Loot for being one of my favorite boxes that I would get each month, easily beating the much bigger boxes like WWE Slamcrate hands down. I basically started collecting Lucha masks because of this crate, and gained insight into a branch of professional wrestling that I admred for nearly my entire time as a wrestling fan despite no cultural connection to the product whatsoever.

Here’s the E-mail in it’s entirety R.I.P.

Lucha Loot Subscribers,

I want to apologize for the delay here.  As many of you know by now, we use a system called Cratejoy to manage Lucha Loot and we thought an email went out to all of our members a few weeks ago, but apparently, it did not.

For a number of reasons, we have decided to put Lucha Loot on an
indefinite hold.

As many of you know, all things Masked Republic are essentially run by Ruben and Kevin, and that is it.  Thankfully, they have help when it comes to some of the company’s larger projects like Expo Lucha, The Luchaverse, and LuchaCentral.com, but as they continue to try to grow the company – and bring lucha libre fans more officially licensed products and new entertainment world possibilities, their time has become extremely limited.  And, not wanting to compromise the quality of what is put in the crates or want to cause issues with delays to packages, we feel this is the best thing to do for the time being.

So, what does this mean for our “current” members?

If you were on a month-to-month or every-two-months plan, you will notice that you have not been charged since early September for the crate you received previously.  There will be no more charges made to your credit card in the future either.  When the time comes to Lucha Loot restarting in the future, you will be emailed and have to opt-in again.  We will not automatically charge your card again.

For many of you, you still have crates on your account due to
pre-payment or signing up toward the end of one month and getting charged twice before your first crate arrived.

We are working on a few special crates to get you what you are still
owed on your subscription.

Part of the reason we have not been able to send them yet is because of delays in manufacturing beyond our control.  We normally don’t like to spoil what will be in crates, but, we can tell you that we are waiting to be able to include our forthcoming Super7 Legends of Lucha Libre ReAction figures in crates.  The figures were ORIGINALLY supposed to be out much earlier this year, but delays caused them to finally be arriving to Super7 later this month and to us in January.  Getting one of the figures in a crate will be the ONLY way on the planet to get them at a discounted rate (by being in your crate) as we are expecting these to sell very quickly much like the MUSCLE figures.  Though, these figures will retail for about 3 times the cost of the MUSCLES and probably sell out just as fast.

So, those of you with crates still owed, sit tight, and we’ll be back to
you in January with more details on what will be a really awesome crate or crates yet to come your way.

If you have any questions, feel free to write us back here and we’ll get back to you within 2 business days!

Sincerely,
Looty The Pirate

If you’d like to see more reviews of the various subscription boxes I get, please head right on over HERE and check out the spoilers.

The theme this time was: Legendary

Spoiler Card / Poster etc

Here is the typical little booklet that always comes with this box, This time we have an interview with Randy Orton and a huge “Legends” poster that is actually pretty cool.

Ric Flair T-Shirt

Fun, simple Ric Flair shirt.

Jake “The Snake” Roberts Bag

If you get a few of these crates, you have without a doubt, WAY too many of these cheap bags that they always seem to include – these and beer coozies – way too many beer coozies…

Razor Ramon Toothpick holder / dispenser

Much like the various money-clips I’ve received from this, I can’t really see myself carrying this around too much, but I suppose it’s interesting.

Degeneration X side-plate pins.

This is the standard pin that always comes with this crate – I’m actually pretty bummed we didn’t get another title belt pin like usual instead we get these pins designed to look like side-plates for current WWE title belts.

Ultimate Warrior Figure

I’ve discussed my general dislike for The Ultimate Warrior on here before, and how I’m not a fan of his ret-conning into a corporate symbol of hope and dreams despite being a huge douchebag in real life. That said, this figure is really cool, and if you can somehow separate the man from the character, I suppose it’s not too bad.

The Verdict:

This is without a doubt one of the weakest boxes we’ve had yet. It honestly seems like this box was put together in a manner pointing towards a cost-cutting venture. I’m not expecting a ton, but I at least expect these things to be better than some of the independently run boxes that always seem to have unique quality items.

The stand-out item was probably the figure as it’s one of the better ones they’ve done so far.

Lucha Loot September-October ’18 Treasure Chest Unboxing / Review

I mentioned this weekend that I was behind on these boxes, and here we go – yet another box review. This time it’s the quarterly Lucha Loot Crate that I subscribe to.

If you’d like to see more reviews of the various subscription boxes I get, please head right on over HERE and check out the spoilers.

Spoiler Card

Best of the Best Mask Assortment – L.A. Park mask

It looks like they did something interesting this month and assembled packages with mask and shirt combos – I’m not sure who was available, but I got one of my favorite Lucha Stars in LA Park aka the Original La Parka. As you can see I’ve adopted it as my new look!

Best of the Best Shirt Assortment – L.A. Park Shirt

I received a flag with this same design in one of the very first boxes I got, glad to get a shirt of this as the design is VERY cool, and you really can’t go wrong representing the Chairman himself.

Lucha “Perler Bead” Style Keychain

It looks like this was another randomized item, this time I got Tinieblas!

Lapel Pin: El Mesias Ricky Banderas

This is the same design as a shirt I received a few boxes ago – great large full colored pin.

Comic Book: The Masked Republic Luchaverse: Lucha Brothers #1 Variant Cover

NICE! I haven’t had a chance to read this yet, but this is actually the limited edition cover version of this comic – funny thing is I received the normal one in my Pro Wrestling Crate two crates ago, so I’m all set! Be ready for my review very soon!

Destino Negro Autographed 8×10

Lucha Libre AAA Sticker Pack

I remember these sticker albums like this from when I was a kid – you’d see these at supermarkets and would involve picking up an album and buying sticker packs to go through and fill the album in. cool to see stuff like this still going around, just wish the sold these here!

This was a solid box overall, If I were to rate them I’d say that of the three boxes that I ended up with in October, this is easily the best one due to me being such a big fan of LA Park and getting a mask and shirt of him. I’m surprised to see designs getting re-used, but it was done in a good way, and it’s not like I got duplicate items or anything.

Considering the comic alone with the shirt could easily be the price of the entire box, I’d say that this was well worth the cash. If you’d like your very own box like this, please go here.

This isn’t an ad or anything as I purchase these with my own cash, but here’s what they’ve done in the past…

Pro Wrestling Crate October 2018 Unboxing / Review

Here we go again! yet another month and yet another set of crates to dig into! This week I have a Pro Wrestling Crate and Lucha Loot that I’ve been sitting on, time to stop being busy and get these reviewed!

Pro Wrestling Crate always gives some of their proceeds to charity and this month is no exception. This time some of the money has gone to Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff, in his attempt to save his home. It appears that he was in dire need of some help as he was sitting on $10k worth of debt and was about to lose his house. Fans stepped in and he is (hopefully) all good now.

If you’d like to see more reviews of the various subscription boxes I get, please head right on over HERE and check out the spoilers. If you’d like to get your very own Pro Wrestling Crate USE THIS LINK and use the coupon code “Austin” to get 20% off your first crate.

Spoiler Card

Ultimate Warrior Shirt

Guerrillas of Destiny Shirt

Papa Shango Micro Brawler

Lucha Mask for Dr. Wagner Jr.

Marty Scurll autographed 8×10

War Machine Pin

Glacier Shoot Interview DVD

This was all around one of my favorite boxes in a while due to me being a fan of Dr. Wagner and Bullet Club, and getting a Lucha mask is always a plus. I was honestly worried we’d get a ton of Ultimate Warrior stuff, which despite his legendary status, I was never a huge fan of nor did I enjoy some of his post-wrestling antics and political views. what we did get was pretty subdued and decent enough for me to consider wearing.

For this being one of the more vague themes, I feel like it was put together well, and I always love getting more micro brawlers – which reminds me that they have single figures up for sale now!

And now, here’s next week’s theme:

Deadpool Club Merc Fall 2018 Unboxing / Review

Good Lord, I’m buried in subscription boxes this month! Just had notification that my Lucha Loot crate for this quarter was also on it’s way, so stay tuned for that if you enjoy these – I know some of these reviews end up somewhat popular so there you go!

Today, we’re looking at Deadpool Club Merc, a box that (so far) has mostly been on time, and features easily my favorite comic book character of all time,  Deadpool! I was honestly worried about this crate a bit due to the tendency for new / meme Deadpool fans only really knowing about the character from social media and assuming he’s just a dude that runs around yelling “CHIMICHANGA!” constantly, like he’s a sitcom character. I’m not gatekeeper by any means, but this take on the character sort of annoys me and is a shell of how layered the character actually is.

I went ahead and paid for a year-long subscription, which likely makes me a sucker in a ponzi scheme if Loot Crate goes under due to the many issues I’ve mentioned in my coverage of Star Trek Mission Crate, but I’m a sucker for ‘Pool merch, and wanted that bonus gift.

was my investment worth it? Let’s find out.

If you’d like to see more reviews of the various subscription boxes I get, please head right on over HERE and check out the spoilers.

If you’d like to check this out, head on over to Loot Crate and search for the Deadpool Club Merc page HERE.

For the next week, you can save 25% on your order by using the code “NYCCLOOT2018”.

Or use coupon code SAVE10 to save 10% on your subscription if you’re reading this from the future.

This quarter’s theme was:

You gotta STAY SHARP, kid! Hone your wits and your katanas with this collection of Deadpool gear that’ll help promote “strong mental focus.” Yeah, yeah, we see the irony.

The Box

While I never care about the box for these (nor the fact that they are often blamed for shipping delays) but figure I ought to share a pic of the packaging for those that want to get the full effect.

Spoiler Card / Small Art Print

Deadpool Club Merc oct 2018 (1)

Deadpool Club Merc oct 2018 (9)

This print is a weird size, but I’m sure I can find something to put it in, I absolutely love art prints as evidenced by the fact that my very own “man cave” looks like some sort of comic shop, and this would look great somewhere.

Deadpool Turnaround T-Shirt

Deadpool Club Merc oct 2018 (5)

Solid shirt design from the recent Duggan / Posehn comic run, I will likely have to wear this on casual Friday at work this week.

Deadpool Sketchbook

This is where we start to see the theme materialize here, I doubt I’ll actually use this to draw in since it’s so cool looking, it  fun idea for a crate item. I’m not sure if you can see it well, but the faux-leather cover is absolutely gorgeous.

Deadpool Pencil Sharpener

When you want to draw in your new sketchbook, better have some sharp pencils! If only I had some of those laying aro…

Deadpool Dialogue Pencil Set

Deadpool Club Merc oct 2018 (14)

-Oh hey!

Deadpool Corps #1 Art Print

Deadpool Club Merc oct 2018 (10)

This is an awesome print, it’s done in grey-scale, but appears to be some sort of sparkly ink, almost making it look even more like a legit pencil sketch. it’s yet again a weird size I have no frames for (8 1/2 x 12) but I’ll see what I can do.

Deadpool Knifed Pin

Deadpool Club Merc oct 2018 (12)

Enamel pins are pretty standard now for crates, and this is a pretty fun one to have.

BONUS: Deadpool Club Merc Challenge Coin

This is a NICE coin! it’s really heavy and has great art on both sides – featuring Headpool on one side, and Dogpool on the other.

The Verdict:

It might be the addition of the coin for this box, but I really enjoyed this crate despite the fact that many of the items are a glorified stationary set. It’s better curated than most WWE Slam Crates tend to be, and has some really cool items that I actually enjoy a lot. Even the fact of having some nice art on the back of the spoiler card making it the first spoiler card that doesn’t instantaneously end up in my recycling bin.

If I had to choose one item that made my day, the pencil sketch was awesome, and I hope stuff like that keeps up in the future.

Is this one worth the cash? I’d say yeah, but I’m a huge mark for Deadpool and the print and shirt are easily the price of the crate.

WWE Slam Crate September 2018 Unboxing / Review

wwelootcrate_3x2

Alrighty folks! It’s once again time to take a trip down to the mailbox and get all that wrestling goodness that I get each quarter! Today, we’ll be looking at yet another edition of WWE Slam Crate, and this one was largely on time after The last few Loot Crate boxes have not been so lucky. After ranting a bit last time, I’ll keep this short and sweet and jumped to the point.

If you’d like to see more reviews of the various subscription boxes I get, please head right on over HERE and check out the spoilers.

The theme this time was:

20180922_200635_resized

They’re big, they’re bad, and they don’t mind letting you know it. Bow down to the supreme Superstars who think they are BETTER THAN YOU! Celebrate the big egos of the WWE Universe with items featuring Alexa Bliss, Elias, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Miz!

Spoiler Card / Alexa Bliss Interview

This time the large pull-out includes your standard spoiler card and a large magazine style article with multi-time WWE Women’s Champ Alex Bliss.

Elias T shirt

20180922_200510_resized

Elias has one of those characters that really doesn’t have to do much to infuriate the crowd, this undoubtedly always cracks me up a lot so this shirt will be a proud addition to my shirt rotation despite it being a “wrestler’s face on a shirt” styled shirt that I don’t like as much as simpler ones.

WWE Slam Stars Alexa Bliss Figure

I always talk about how much I enjoy exclusive merch like these Slam Star figures, and I’m really glad that you really can’t get these anywhere else.

Miz Embroidered Patch

20180922_200608_resized

I have a vest that I wear to metal concerts, but have amassed a decent amount of wrestling patches to a degree that I might have to make a “wrestling vest” one of these days. Maybe I’ll start a new trend at wrestling shows, who knows.

Bret Hart Vs Shawn Michaels Pillow

To commemorate one of the most notorious feuds in all of wrestling history, Slam Crate tossed a small decorative pillow in this box. I’ll hand it to Loot Crate, they always keep me guessing as to what goodies come in here, and it’s usually a pretty diverse assortment from month to month.

WWE Women’s Championship Pin

20180922_200657_resized

My biggest gripe with this is that there are apparently two randomly inserted pins this month. I know that this will eventually mean they will both be available on Loot Vault, Loot Crate’s online store, at some point. I just wish they weren’t at the point of going for a cash-grab on these for people like myself that try to collect stuff like this. Hopefully, this isn’t a new normal for this. Otherwse solid pin, and a great addition to the collection.

The Verdict:

This crate is hard to review as it’s pretty diverse from other crates, as mentioned earlier, but doesn’t really have a great stand-out item. To be honest, The previous crate was a bit better. That doesn’t mean this was bad, and believe me, I’ve had some bad crates from this company in the past – most notably from the anime line that I briefly dabbled in. It was just sort of there. I guess if I’d have to choose, I’d say I like the Elias shirt the most.

For Next time: A spoiler –

Pro Wrestling Crate August 2018 Unboxing / Review

DANG! seems like all of these subscription crates have lined up in such a way to where it looks like I get tons of them all the time. Truthfully, most of these are basically quarterly, but every one in a while it’s like Christmas over here at my house. So anyway, we’re once again looking at Pro Wrestling Crate, perhaps my favorite wrestling related crate that I’ve tried. I pay for these myself, and counting the embarrassing amount of Micro Brawlers that I now have, it shows that I have been a member for 18 months and they’ve never steered me wrong.

Pro Wrestling Crate always gives some of their proceeds to charity and this month is no exception. This time some of the money has gone to the Virgil Flynn III Family Fund GoFundMe plan. Flynn was a Northern California Wrestler and promoter that sadly suffered a stroke at age 33 and passed away.

If you’d like to see more reviews of the various subscription boxes I get, please head right on over HERE and check out the spoilers. If you’d like to get your very own Pro Wrestling Crate USE THIS LINK and use the coupon code “HOME” to get 20% off your first crate.

This month’s theme was:

big in japan

Mastodon Vader T Shirt

I absolutely LOVE this shirt! Intentional or not, it has this He-Man and the Masters of the Universe vibe. Really wish I would have had this on-hand when I met Vader a few years back before he passed away.

“The King” Ricochet T Shirt

As I type this, Ricochet perhaps just had the match of his WWE career at NXT Brooklyn 4 against The Velveteen Dream – what an amazing talent! I still think I enjoy his Lucha Underground work better, but having this shirt is cool.

Tama Tonga Micro Brawler Figure

I think I’m literally like 3 members away from having an entire line of Bullet Club figures at this point – maybe just Chase Owens, Bad Luck Fale, Ishimori, Hikuleo and Tanga Loa and I’ll have all current members.Hell, at this point I hope they go back and grab former members as well. Anyway, not much else to say other than I love these things!

Ribera Steakhouse Custom Menu

This is what I assume to be a facsimile menu from Ribera Steakhouse – a legend to professional wrestling fans. Ribera is a Japanese professional wrestling, boxing and mixed martial arts-themed steak house restaurant with two locations. The original location is in Gotanda, and there is a second, larger location in Meguro. Professional wrestlers frequent the restaurant when touring in Tokyo, a rite of passage in the wrestling community. In addition, some wrestlers receive a satin Ribera Steakhouse Jacket from the owners which has become almost infamous to fans.

Road Warrior Animal Autographed 8×10

20180819_011526

This is actually like the third autograph I have from Animal as he frequents a local wrestling federation that I live near, but this is still cool. If you get a chance check out his podcast, he tells some good stories.

Joey Ryan “Big In Japan” Socks.

There isn’t much I can really say about receiving novelty socks in these things, yeah I could do my due diligence and wear them all day and do an elaborate review on some sort of sock comfort scale – but get real, that’s silly. Pretty nifty socks though!

Kenny Omega “Change the World” Exclusive Collectors Pin

Another fine lapel pin for my collection.

AJ Styles Making an Impact DVD

20180819_011636

I believe this DVD was originally called “Leaving an Impact” and was sold as a DV-R by High Spots.

The Phenomenal One, AJ Styles has been the face of TNA for the past 11 years, but that all changed on December 15th 2013 when his contract expired. Highspots caught up with AJ in his man-cave in Gainesville, GA on Jan 2, 2014 and he opens up about what led to those negotiations breaking down, his relationship with Dixie, what it feels like to be a free agent after all these years, returning to the indies and would he ever go to work for Vince. AJ also reflects on his classic matches and angles during his time in TNA and shoots on the “money” guys that didn’t care about the product. You don’t want to miss this over two hour interview with the Phenomenal AJ Styles.

Another Solid month from Pro Wrestling Crate, that Vader shirt is the MVP of this box by far and will likely be in my rotation quite a bit.

Join me again next month for another box review! the theme will be:

Star Trek Mission Crate 002: Way of the Warrior

I spoke at some length during my review of the last WWE Slam Crate about the possible financial woes that Loot Crate might be facing and the annoyance that fans of Star Trek have been put through for this year. Because of that, I won’t harp on it again, and will concentrate on the positive fact that MY CRATE IS FINALLY HERRRRE! Ahem, now the question is – was it worth the wait?

They say “the only people who can really handle the Klingons are the Klingons,” so when a Klingon fleet arrives at Deep Space Nine, LT. Commander Worf is brought in to learn their true motives. What he discovers leads to the start of the Federation / Klingon War.

If you’d like to see more reviews of the various subscription boxes I get, please head right on over HERE and check out the spoilers.

The Box

Last time, everything came in a nifty box that resembled a Next Generation Shuttle Craft, while cool this served little purpose aside from making a very cool piece of trash that I threw out since I don’t hoard random packing materials no matter how awesome they might be. This time around Looters? (Craters? not sure what the nickname is) have a more simple branded box that looks pretty slick. This blue and red branding is on most of the items in the box and may be the “packaging issues” that caused the delays that we heard about.

Spoiler Card

Typical spoiler card that looks like those iPads that everyone had in Star Trek TNG.

Lt. Commander Worf Mini Master

This figure is awesome! this is beyond the best part of the box immediately from just glancing outside. while it’s plastic, this is more the quality of some sort of expensive imported figure rather than a simple Walmart action figure. If these Mini Masters keep being in the box, I’m all for this crate!

Mirror Universe Tribble

Simple “plushie” showing a mirror universe (evil) version of everyones favorite annoying alien.

Klingon Socks

20180816_004301

Can’t say too much about socks, but they look comfy – I’ll have to pick a day when I wear my Worf shirt and toss these on.

Klingon Emblem Badge

20180816_004159

Last time we got a bridge crew Federation badge, this is a nice compliment.

Klingon Sticker

20180816_004217

Once I eventually get a different car, I might have to toss this onto it.

Star Trek Discovery Lapel Pin20180816_004143

Standard lapel pin similar to the badge last time.

Star Trek Online: Klingon Defense Force Starter Pack (PC Code)

20180816_004230

I don’t have this game for PC, but I have plenty of friends that play, so I always pass these on.

All-in-all good box, not sure it lived up to the insane wait we all had to suffer, but I’m glad to finally have it. With no shirt this time, the best item is easily the Worf statue, which is now predominant placed in my Star Trek themed guest bathroom.

Here’s hoping we don’t wait another five months for box 3. I’ll keep everyone posted lol!

WWE Slam Crate June 2018 Unboxing / Review

Before going into any review for a box from Loot Crate, I wanted to touch base on a bit of controversy they seem to be perpetually embroiled in lately. Since I actually pay for these boxes, you won’t see any fake glowing reviews without criticism on my site. You see, I have been a member of WWE Slam Crate since the very first box and recently signed up for Star Trek Mission Crate (well about 6 months ago). Until recently, I had absolutely no issues, but this spring – Summer has been ridiculously bad for the company for many reasons. It seems that, for whatever reason, Loot Crate can’t keep any of their boxes on schedule lately. This WWE crate, for example,  was supposed to be shipped well over a month ago, apparently a Firefly Crate is really far behind, and my personal annoyance being Star Trek Mission Crate. The first STMC was supposed to ship sometime in January with the second arriving in March. If I recall we received #1 in February sometime and have YET TO RECEIVE #2!

Apparently the reason behind this is allegedly the shipping materials getting messed up or something, but I honestly could care less if my swag shows up in a model of a Star Trek shuttle craft (as the first one did) because after the initial novelty it will proudly be residing in my recycling bin because it’s a shipping box. I’d rather the money go to making sure delays like this don’t happen again. Allegedly, these will be shipped in about a week, but we’ll see :/

Star Trek crate update

sigh…

Well, without further ado, lets actually talk about this particular crate instead of ranting! This quarters theme was “Larger Than Life” and promised items from some of WWE’s biggest superstars, let’s see how it stacks up with my other wrestling crates like yesterday’s Pro Wrestling Crate.

The Box

WWE Slam Crate 1

I already mentioned that I never keep these boxes or anything, but this one was pretty cool – Wish there were more people on this like Kane or Giant Gonzalez, but for what is basically getting thrown away, I won’t worry too much.

The spoiler booklet/Poster

While I don’t really hang these posters up, it’s a cool way to make the spoiler card something to hold onto.

Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase Money Clip

Hilariously, this is not the first Ted Dibiase money clip I’ve got from a subscription box, although this one’s a bit classier. Well, at least flashier.

Undertaker Shirt

Not much to say other than this is a really cool shirt, and I absolutely love that there is nothing printed on the back which 9/10 times ruins most WWE shirts.

WCW World Heavyweight Championship Pin

These pins are always so cool – I have amassed quite the collection of these these past few years, and this is already one of my favorites seeing how big of a WCW fan I was. We’ve already received a pin version of the infamous NWO spray painted version of this belt, so it’s nice having the clean one as well.

WWE Slame Crate 15

Andre The Giant Fleece Blanket

It was astonishingly hard to take a picture of this for some reason, but here it is draped over my couch in perhaps the worst pictures on this entire post. It’s about 6 feet tall and has images of Andre’s actual hand and foot size which is cool. This is possibly the standout item of this box.

Braun Strowman Figure

I wasn’t too sure about these figures when they first started sending these as the last thing I need are a bunch of things like Funko Pop Vinyls cluttering up my nerd room, but these aren’t too bad. They are definitely better than the heavy die cast metal figures that the first few crates had.

WWE Slame Crate 12

And that’s it! all-in-all this was one of the better crates from these guys as I can see myself using that blanket and shirt and I LOVE the belt pins. In the past, this crate has send some sort of “meh” things (a problem with Lootcrate as a whole) and I believe I would rather have these larger items instead of a ton of small stuff if that’s the route they are taking. Perhaps my only issue with this selection of items is that it didn’t really take too much advantage of the theme of “big guy” wrestlers as it could. Now, here’s hoping the companies issues get ironed out.

Next up is going to be a crate called “Better Than You” which could be fun as it appears to be a heel crate.

slam crate better than you spoiler

They’re big, they’re bad, and they don’t mind letting you know it. Bow down to the supreme Superstars who think they are BETTER THAN YOU! Celebrate the big egos of the WWE Universe with items featuring Alexa Bliss, Elias, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and The Miz!

Pro Wrestling Crate July 2018 Unboxing / Review

Just got back from my mail box, and was excited to see one of my subscription boxes had come in – today we’ll be looking at another Pro Wrestling Crate from the fine folks over at Pro Wrestling Tees. I’ve been getting this crate for well over a year now, and it’s always worth it.

This month, it looks like the chosen charity was for Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake’s surgery Indiegogo. Apparently he hurt himself pretty bad a while back and needs a full knee replacement:

“A few months ago I took a tumble and twisted my knee and I’ve been in some pain. Finally went to my doctor and had an MRI TODAY then back to the Dr with the disc! A lot of running around or hobbling around. Thank God for my wife Missy who took initiative to get me to the Doctor because I do need surgery! This is where I need help! I have no insurance to cover the day surgery which is roughly 12k.”

Without further ado, This Month’s theme was:

themeslider

So, what sort of dastardly items are we in store for?

If you’d like to see more reviews of the various subscription boxes I get, please head right on over HERE and check out the spoilers. If you’d like to get your very own Pro Wrestling Crate USE THIS LINK and use the coupon code “HOME” to get 20% off your first crate.

Spoiler Card

“Villain” Marty Scurll T Shirt

Pro Wrestling Crate july 2018 3

I tell you what, these shirt designs have been really killing it lately, I’m not usually for “Wrestlers face on a shirt” type tees, but Marty has such a cool look with the plague doctor mask and wings in his entrance attire that it works here.

“Madness” Randy Savage Shirt

Pro Wrestling Crate july 2018 4

This is a definite throwback to some late 90’s WCW shirts from back in the day. I have another WWF era Macho Man shirt from these guys, this will compliment it well.

Tetsuya Naito Micro Brawler Figure

Solid Micro Brawler for yet another future legend. Naito’s run as IWGP Intercontinental Championship last year was awesome.

Sami Callihan Baseball Card

I really hope this is a new exclusive line rather than a one-off item because a collection of retro pro wrestling cards is right up my alley.

Sami Callihan Autographed 8×10

Pro Wrestling Crate july 2018 5

Yet another autograph I don’t have Yay! I never really followed Callihan much before he was in NXT, but he has slowly become one of my favorite fixtures of both Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling. So far, his feud with Pentagon Jr has been amazing!

Silas Young’s “Last Real Man” Pocket Knife

While sort of random (not as random as the fidget spinner from about a year ago), you can never go wrong with a small pocket knife.

“Rowdy” Roddy Piper – Piper’s Pit Enamel Pin

I’m always a fan of exclusive items since it’s not a “hey, here’s a bunch of overstock stuff” and these enamel pins from PWC are almost always pretty great. Being a big fan of Piper, I really like getting stuff from him, and PWC always delivers with their swag.

Behind Closed Doors – Jake “the Snake” Roberts DVD

This is a popular “shoot interview” by RF video that usually retails for about 10 bucks, so you’re really getting a good deal on this box with two shirts and this DVD. Here’s what my bad picture of the back says:

“Behind Closed Doors” with Jake Roberts was educational, informative and most of all entertaining. This new shoot style series today is with the dean of psychology Jake Roberts. If you ask any veteran in wrestling today who the king of psychology is, they would all tell you Jake “The Snake” Roberts.

This series will not be your typical shoot interview. Instead we will sit down with a wrestling superstar and ask them questions about the inner workings of the business. This has never been done before. Whether your a wrestling fan or even a indy worker this series is a must for you to own. Its the most tutorial wrestling DVD ever!!

Did you know that Jake Roberts played a huge part in the WWF to teach other workers how to get to the next level? Did you know at one time Jake Roberts was the stepping stone for every heel to get to Hulk Hogan. He would work with all the heels like Honky Tonk Man, Rick Rude, and Ted DiBase before they would reach Hulk Hogan and mold them into where they needed to be as a heel before going onto main event matches.

Jake knew what to do and when to do it in the ring. He could have you either cheering him or throwing bottles at his head. He knew what made a great heel or a baby face. He knew how to carry a match and when to do that false finish. He talks about all of this in this new series. He will talk about the three types of heels the chicken shit, liar, and the cheater heel character. We talk about when is the right time to get color in a match. We talk about a lot of today’s current WWE roster and we talk about who is doing the right things in the ring and who is not. You will be amazed on what Jake has to say. We talk about Raven as well. We even touch on his problems with the movie Beyond the Mat. We even got to ask him about his recent problem in England with the snake that they claimed he mishandled. We asked him about his drug and alcohol problems and how is he dealing with that today. What is the future for Jake? This is one DVD you don’t want to miss out on.”

That’s it for this month! Check back in a few weeks for a review of WWE Slam Crate (if it ever stops getting delayed) and other solid content. If you like spoilers for this crate check my links above and come back in about a month – you won’t be disappointed!

Pro Wrestling Crate June 2018 Unboxing / Review

Looks like it’s that time of the month again! Time for yet another subscription crate un-boxing. I know I seem to do a lot of these, but truthfully it’s just a few each month and the ones I usually get are awesome. As you may or may not know, I’m an avid collector of wrestling memorabilia and signed autographs, and as someone that usually doesn’t care for receiving gifts on holidays and other special occasions, these boxes seem to give me the same feeling most people get on their birthday or Christmas. Now before I start a therapy session, it’s time for the main event: This week we’re taking a look at the Pro Wrestling Crate June 2018!

Spoiler Card

This month’s theme is “Ladies of Wrestling” with some of the proceeds of this crate going to an organization called Womankind. Womankind is a UK-based organization that helps support other organizations in developing nations that help women’s rights. I’m not actually sure how long PWC has been donating to charity in these, as I may have been insanely unobservant in the past, but either way it’s cool to see them helping others with some of the money they receive.

With women’s wrestling in what many would consider to be it’s highest point in many decades, it’s fun to have one of these boxes devoted exclusively to the division.

Shirt 1: Sugar Skull Amy Dumas / Lita Shirt

Cool distressed sugar skull shirt from WWE’s Lita / Amy Dumas.

Shirt 2: Join the Hive – Rosemary

Easily Impact Wrestling’s biggest female star of the last few years and one of the cooler babyface gimmicks in the entire company.

Candice LeRae Micro Brawler

I absolutely love these little figures we get each month exclusively in this subscription box. This one will be proudly displayed next to my Joey Ryan figure to recreate the World’s Cutest Tag Team or holding a spot for a possible Johnny Gargano figure I hope we eventually get. I have started amassing quite the collection of these:

Barbie Blank / Kelly Kelly Poster

While not my favorite wrestler, Kelly Kelly sure makes a nice pin-up poster. Granted, I have very few places I could actually put this without looking like a total sleazeball. Maybe I can hang it near my exercise equipment.

Vickie Guerrero autographed 8×10

Another solid  addition to my collection. I really need to post some of those on here one of these days.

Shayna Bazsler Playing Cards

What better merch for the “Queen of Spades” than a deck of playing cards!

Tessa Blanchard collector’s Pin

Impact Wrestling’s latest female star and former Mae Young Tournament competitor Tessa Blanchard is the exclusive pin this month, very nice!

In the Ring DVD: Luna Vachon

I am woefully behind on my wrestling DVDs, but this looks pretty cool. Perhaps most well known for her work in WWF in the 90’s, Luna was one of the few female wrestlers at that time, that I was legit scared of.  Here is part of the blurb on the back on the DVD:

Shot on 6/6/06 at a wrestling school behind a mental institution, Luna and Vampire Warrior covered all the wrestling basics such as bumping, selling, and working for the camera as they weaved in stories from being on the road and working with WWE! This was an amazing performance that needs to be seen to be believed. Everyone remembers Luna’s insane promos and on this exclusive DVD she takes the time to work with the students on their promo skills. We even got a chance to watch Luna cut some of her most infamous promos and explained to us where they came from emotionally.

Tenille Dashwood’s aviator sunglasses

Emma was one of the most criminally underused characters in the last decade in WWE, I’m very glad she’s been doing well in the indies, and especially her work in Ring of Honor. Cool sunglasses as well.

All-in-all another great box from Pro Wrestling Crate – as always the autograph is always a highlight for me, but the shirts (especially the Rosemary one) were great, and I love my Micro Brawlers! pound for pound, this is the best wrestling crate out there. It usually has the most diverse selection of items, and the coolest themes. To get your own, head on over to Pro Wrestling Crate at the following link: Pro Wrestling Crate!

Next month’s box is all about the bad guys
