A Comic by Valente Ochoa based on the podcast by various AEW Wrestlers

One of the recent items in a recent Pro Wrestling Crate was this short fan-made comic of the popular AEW affiliated Dungeons & Dragons campaign – Critical Botch. Starring the likes of AEW wrestlers Brandon Cutler, Orange Cassidy, Leva Bates, and Colt Cabana, Critical Botch takes a bit to get rolling, but once the momentum starts it’s hilarious fun. This comic retells the very beginning of the first episode, wherein the party first meets in a bar. I’m sure the Dungeon Master (Brandon Cutler) had a full campaign all set up, only to have everyone cause utter chaos and start a murderous bar fight right from the get-go. “Welcome to the adventures of orc halfington, Lorelai Onessa Leon, Rick Birdman, Doc Martin, Copper Nightflare and Jonathan Taylor Tortuga. Based on the popular Twitch Show at twich.tv/brancutler “Critical Botch” the comic follows the adventures of this crew of “Murder Hobos” as they meet for the very first time in a town called Ironhaven at the All-Inn Tavern. They immediately find trouble and they must learn to work as a team in order to survive and live in this world of half-orcs, moon elf rangers, Kenku birdmen, lizard folk, criminal/spies and wizard turtles!! Part one of three.”

This is a fun comic for anyone that is a fan of the YouTube show. It’s fan-made so it’s by no means going to win any awards anytime soon, but what is there is pretty awesome. If you went into this cold, it should be enjoyable still, but it’s definitely better with some knowledge of the source material before-hand. I especially loved the parts where the players had no idea what they were doing being added into the comic, for example Trent reading his items list out loud making it seem like his character is obsessed with all of the weapons he has, or Colt’s portrayal of Orc Halfington that is so innocent he really stands out amongst the other “murder hobos”. Here’s hoping we get more of these in future crates, as I’d love to see what the author does as the story keeps moving along.

If you missed out on this, you can find it on Lulu, but it’s pretty pricey for a short comic, I also saw some of them on Ebay.
